of Evangelist Stan Linzey


Dr. Stanford E. Linzey, Jr. is an accomplished minister, author, retired USN Chaplain, and evangelistic speaker. He has traveled all over the world in ministry. With God's blessings during evangelistic campaigns he has accomplished what few since the times of the early church have done; he has led over 5,500 men and women to faith in Christ, and 19,300 into the experience of the baptism of the Holy Spirit!!!

Dr. Linzey has been a featured speaker at Evangel College (Springfield, MO.), Vanguard University (Costa Mesa, CA.), Bethany Bible College (Santa Cruz, CA.), Bethany Bible Institute , and the Far East Advanced School of Theology in the Philippines. He has been guest lecturer at Indiana University (Bloomington, IN.), Seattle Pacific University (Seattle, WA.), California State University , Fullerton, California; and the University of the Ryukyus in Okinawa. The chaplain was the featured speaker for the Asia Pacific Military Retreats in the Far East in 1989.

An acknowledged author, Dr. Linzey wrote the widely distributed pamphlet, "Why I Believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit," and "Filling Your Boots," for young men and women coming into Military Service. His book, "Pentecost in the Pentagon," has been well received. He has written numerous articles for various publications, including the C.A. Herald, and Reader's Digest.

Dr. Linzey has studied extensively within the religious arena. He received his B.A. and Th.B. degrees from San Diego Baptist Bible College and Seminary, and the Master of Divinity from The American Baptist Seminary of the West in Berkeley, CA. In addition, he studied at the Harvard Divinity School. Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA, conferred on him the Doctor of Ministry Degree.

One of his latest writing efforts, is the untold story of faith and prayer from a survivor's viewpoint which takes form in the book, "God Was At Midway." is currently in it's second printing. This encouraging story tells how the author had conducted Bible studies on board the ship, and in answer to the prayers of those men and their loved ones, many accepted Christ. Miraculous rescues from bomb bursts and fragmented steel are disclosed as Navy destroyers pulled blue jackets from the sea. The story reveals how barefoot men clad only in their underwear knelt on the steel deck of a destroyer and offered thanks to Almighty God for His mercy and salvation. This inspiring story reveals how God turns adversity into victory for His Kingdom!

As his opus writing challenge, Dr. Linzey has written a marvelous work on the Holy Spirit, "The Holy Spirit in the Third Millennium." This work deals with the issues surrounding the manifestation of the Spirit in prayer from theological and practical points of view. answering questions that many have even been afraid to ask, much less answer. The subject of the Holy Spirit is presented in a fresh manner that the modern churchman can receive.
